2016 FIRST Stronghold

Minotaur competed in the 2016 season FIRST Stronghold and won the Palmetto Regional earning its 3rd Blue Banner and another trip to the FIRST Championship. Our safety program took a big leap with another safety video submission and a 2nd safety Star of the Day and Safety Hard Hat award at the Orlando regional.  For the 2nd year in a row, Minotaur had another Dean’s List finalist as Andrew Butt won again at the Palmetto Regional.

2016 Season FIRST Stronghold

FIRST Stronghold is the game for the 2016 FIRST Robotics Competition. The game is played by two alliances of three teams each, and involves breaching the opponents’ defenses, known as outer works, and capturing their tower by first firing “boulders” (small foam balls) at it and then surrounding or scaling the tower using rungs. Something Important to Know About Our Robot:

Our robot has a modular defense design, allowing us to become a defensive team in some matches and an offensive robot on other matches.  Our Defensive Apparatus is now in version 3 and includes an extendable “volleyball blocker” This modular defense design has been very successful this year
